Who is this service for?

Adults with learning disabilities who will benefit from experiencing the relationship between cause and effect and working in a small group.

What will I learn at these sessions?

• How to access a computer using specialist adaptive technology, if required
• How to use a variety of interactive computer games and software designed to encourage adults with cognitive/physical delay problems achieve tasks, build up reaction and anticipation skills and learn switch/scan control techniques.
• How to work in a group to experience turn taking, peer encouragement and praise
• That there is a relationship between cause and effect

Entry requirements for session:

You will need to be able to follow basic instructions and bring a support worker to help you.

How will I learn?

In the first part of the session you will use a variety of interactive computer software on your own customised computer. You will then work with a small group of people using cause and effect software on an interactive whiteboard.

Cost of service?

Standard session rate - £15

Session details: Location: Karten Centre Day and time: Fridays 9:30 - 10:30 am Sessions start: September 2007. Students enrol for up to 1 year. Enrolment possible at any time throughout year.
